Overview
This page explains, in plain terms, who owns what once a project we've built for a client ships — and how that interacts with the open-source and third-party tools every modern build relies on. It works alongside our Terms of Service and any signed project agreement, which takes precedence if the two ever conflict.
Client Ownership
Once a project is paid in full, ownership of the custom code, designs, and content we created specifically for that engagement transfers to the client. You're free to modify, extend, or hand it to another team without needing further permission from us.
Pre-Existing IP
APEllit retains ownership of internal frameworks, boilerplate, design systems, and utilities we built before your project and reused to deliver it faster. You receive a perpetual, royalty-free license to use these components as part of your delivered product, but they remain ours to reuse on other engagements.
Open-Source Components
Most projects include open-source libraries and frameworks — React, Next.js, and similar tools among them. Each retains its own license (commonly MIT or Apache 2.0), which governs your rights to that specific component independently of this page. We'll flag any dependency with unusual licensing terms before it ships.
This Website's Content
The APEllit Solutions name, logo, and the text and design of this website are our property and may not be reproduced without permission. Case study and project imagery is used under license from its respective source and remains the property of that source.
Restrictions
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, you may not resell our pre-existing frameworks or boilerplate as a standalone product, and we won't publicly reference confidential aspects of your project without your consent — public case studies are only published with client approval.
